Lebanese Ministry of Health: 7 dead, including 3 children and 2 women, in the final toll following the raid on the town of Ansar in the Nabatieh district
He Trump administration criticized Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz's remarks about maintaining Israel's occupation of southern Lebanon, stressing that his comments contradict commitments the Israeli government made under the framework agreement with the United States and Lebanon. "The United States expects all parties to act in a manner consistent with the Framework they agreed to, and Israel clearly stated that it has no territorial ambitions in Lebanon. A permanent military presence in South Lebanon is not consistent with the commitments made in the Framework, or the long-term peace and security of both states," a State Department official said
A US official told us that the Israeli UNRWA map, which removed southern Lebanon from the map, was taken down from the Israeli Foreign Ministry's accounts following an inquiry from the State Department. As per the US official, the Israelis told the US side that the map had been AI-generated and contained numerous mistakes: Kuwait did not exist, the West Bank was oversized, and Egypt did not share a border with Gaza. The Lebanese Ambassador to Washington Nada Hamadeh Mouawad was the one who contacted the State Department to ask for clarification about the map
PM Netanyahu: "In recent days, Israel has acted forcefully in Lebanon, eliminating militants, including in the Ali Taher Ridge. I cannot elaborate. We are engaged in a very important operation."
